How do I add Terms & Conditions to the checkout?

Adding terms to the checkout is possible and it's very easy to do so. Here's how you can do it on Subbly

Enabling Terms & Conditions at the checkout

In order to add Terms and Conditions to your checkout for the customers to agree to when checking out on your products, you will need to:

  • Create and publish a separate page, either on Subbly builder from the Pages app (explained here) or by creating an external page which you'll link to your Subbly checkout (you can host it literally anywhere, it doesn't have to be on Subbly)
  • Input unique URL to your T&C page in the appropriate field here.
  • Make sure that you have the appropriate toggle enabled on the Privacy Center part of the admin, as indicated in the screenshot below
  • Upon this, link to the terms and conditions will be added on the final step of the checkout for the customers to review before committing to a subscription.

Simple as that!

Premade Terms & Conditions (in case you don't have one yet)

In case you don't want to bother with creating and writing your own terms, don't worry, we've got you covered!

At any point, you'll be able to use default terms and conditions for your store provided by Subbly. You can access them anytime from Privacy Center page here

In order to be redirected to the default terms' page you need to click on the Basic Default Terms for Your Store link at the right section of the screen.

How to write your store's terms?

Although you can find plenty of services online that can help you generate your store's terms and conditions (see one here), it's recommended that you write your own terms, as every business is unique in a way and no ready-made terms template can really resonate 100% with your business setup.

It doesn't have to be anything fancy, simple 10-point terms will do in most cases. Keeping it simple and straightforward is probably the best way to go here 😊
