Setting up Google Auth

Do you want to allow your customers to register and sign-in during checkout with their existing Google account? Follow the steps below to configure our Google Auth App.

Setup steps

Before we start, please note that you are mandated to follow this process only if you are using a custom checkout domain. If you are not, then Google login will work by using Subbly's default auth, in which case, you don't have to take any additional actions.

The very first step would be to get your Client ID from Google Cloud Platform

  • Go to your Google Cloud Platform dashboard and select APIs & Services > Credentials.
  • Click on create credentials and choose "OAuth Client ID."
  • From the Application type, choose Web application.
  • Enter the name of your store then click on add URL
  • Enter your checkout URL and click on create
  • Once you do that you get a pop-up window with your client ID
  • Go back to your Subbly admin, open up the Integrations and look for the Google Auth app
  • Click on Install & Configure, you will get the below page
  • Copy the ID from the previous step, paste it on your Google Auth Client ID, enable the app, and hit save.

That's it!

After following all the steps mentioned above, customers will be presented with the option to log through their existing Google account as following:
