Setting up Mailchimp integration

Mailchimp is one of the most popular email marketing tools out there, and you can connect it to Subbly to elevate the communication with your customers.

Basically, when integrating Mailchimp to Subbly you can manage emailing for product subscribers, newsletter subscribers and visitors to your site.

Let's tackle each one of these functions and make sure to previously create an account with Mailchimp if you don't already have one (they have a free plan!). 

How to connect Subbly checkouts with Mailchimp list from Subbly's App Store?

With this integration, your subscribers' emails will automatically pass from Subbly's checkout to your Mailchimp's audience list. This does not create an integration between the Contact form on your site and Mailchimp list though, you need to scroll down a bit to see that one
  • Head over to your Mailchimp Account > Extras > API Keys
  • You'll find it underneath Your API Keys Section
Please note you will have to create a new key if this is your first time visiting this section
  • Copy the API Key and go to the Subbly Integrations. Look up for Mailchimp integration and click on Install & Configure as in the picture below.
  • Then simply paste your API Key in the appropriate field.

Now, let's go back to Mailchimp in order to obtain the List ID (which is also referred to as the Audience ID.)

  • Final step... Back at Subbly paste it in the field left, enable the integration and press Save!
  • If the toggle "Keep cancelled subscribers in the Mailchimp list" is active, it will keep emails of customers who cancelled their subscription in the linked Mailchimp List. If the toggle is disabled, customers will be removed from your list after cancelling their subscription.

How to connect a Contact form element to Mailchimp?

If you're setting a newsletter and need to collect emails or want to let people easily reach out to you when visiting your website, you can use our Subscription or Form element and connect it to Mailchimp.
  • From the website builder on Subbly, go ahead and right click on the Form element > Edit > Send Data to > choose Mailchimp.
  • You will then be asked to connect your Account and authorize Subbly integration so go ahead and do that
  • Once allowed you will be able to select the List ID (referred to as Audience ID as well) where data should be passed into and you're done!

And you're done. You will get your customer's email subscribers passed on to your Mailchimp Audience list.

How to change the connected Mailchimp account from the contact form element?

In order to disconnect the current Mailchimp account from your contact form element, access contact form element settings > Send data to > Mailchimp and disable the "Send data to Mailchimp" toggle, then you will be prompted with a "Disconnect" button.

Afterward, you will be able to use a different account by adding new credentials.
