How to setup affiliate tracking through Subbly?

Although we don't have a built-in affiliate tracking tool (yet), there are still a couple of external solutions that you might want to consider when setting up affiliate campaign through Subbly. 

Before we proceed, please let's make a distinction between referral tool and affiliate tool. Do note that Subbly does have and offer a built-in referral tool, which you can setup easily as explained HERE.

Referral vs. Affiliate tool

In order to understand the difference between these two similar marketing phenomena we will give you a simple example. 

Let's say that John is a customer of yours and is subscribed to your product/service. John is very satisfied with the quality of what you're offering so he decides to tell her friend, Emma, about your company. He shares his referral link with her and he decides to join the crew and subscribe to your store herself. Now John got a certain $$$ discount off of his next order (depending on your referral setup) based on his referral activity. 

This is what we call the referral tool!

But, what if John is not a subscriber of your store? Would he still be able to refer Emma to subscribe to your product?

Well, yeah if John is an influencer and if he has been properly incentivized to act as an affiliate and refer other people to use your service.

Main difference between the referrals and affiliates is that referrals are actually your active subscribers, while affiliates are not (Youtube or social media stars, influencers, reviewers...). This is the main difference between these. 

Solutions for setting up affiliate tracking on Subbly

There are indeed plenty of different options on the market for setting up affiliate tracking. We won't debate on which ones are better, but will provide a shortlist of the ones that we've historically witnessed working on our platform:

  • Rewardful - this is the most frequently used platform for affiliate tracking on Subbly, their setup is very easy and their super-friendly support team will be more than happy to  help with the setup after you sign up (it takes you through just a couple of simple clicks).

  • Tapfiliate - trusted by many, Tapfiliate is known for a beautiful UX and is very simple to navigate and setup.
  • Affiliatly - although you will find Affiliatly as active integration for plenty of different eCommerce solutions, we don't have integration with these guys on the App Store. But we do have a couple of merchants successfully using them. 

How to setup these? 

Since we don't have a direct app which you can integrate with from the App Store, what you will need to do in order to integrate these affiliate tools with Subbly's checkouts is to: 

  • get tracking script from their admin
  • paste the tracking script to the conversion tracking panel on your admin
