Troubleshooting ''there is an update'' error

You are viewing documentation for our legacy drag and drop builder, which is now deprecated. Some functionalities described here may no longer work as expected because active maintenance, updates and bug fixes for this platform have ended. We strongly recommend moving to the new builder for full support and continued feature development. If you'd like to see a demo, click here, and if you want your site rebuilt on the new builder, please contact our support team.

How to troubleshoot the 'there is an update' problem on your website?

If your customers cannot access your website, and you cannot access your website builder, most probably you are experiencing an error like the one in the image below.

In order to fix this, you need to check your subscription/membership product descriptions and also, your one-time product descriptions. If you see any special characters and/or emotes, you need to remove them as they are breaking the website template and limiting your customers and yourself to access the website.

Please don't use emojis or any special characters included in the product descriptions as these are breaking the PHP (don't mind the dev lingo), in other words, they are causing this error.

Once you remove the special characters and/or emotes, you should be able to visit your page or access your website builder as usual.
