Understanding the Different AI Models Available

Andrija Krstic Updated by Andrija Krstic

In this article you can find explanations on how to change the AI model AI agent will be using when executing prompts, as well as what are the pros and cons of each one of the models.

How to change the AI model

You can change the AI model your AI agent runs on from inside the project settings panel as in the image below.

Selecting the AI model will keep it as default unless it gets changed again. Core is the default AI model for all new builds and projects.

Explanation of different models

Users can choose from four different AI models, each with its own approach to problem-solving and a unique balance of reasoning and computing power. As a result, the choice of model can influence how quickly credits are consumed.

There is no single best model for every situation. It’s recommended to experiment with different models depending on the project and the prompts being used. Below is an overview of the key strengths and limitations of each model.

Core

Core model is the most lightweight option, offering the lowest level of reasoning. It works well for small and medium-sized tasks but is not recommended for complex projects. While it shares some strengths with the Advanced model, its reasoning ability is more limited. This makes it best suited for straightforward edits or less demanding tasks.

Advanced

Advanced model provides stronger reasoning capabilities and is generally more proactive compared to other models. It is well-suited for medium to large tasks, especially those involving text generation or design, though design suitability may depend on individual preferences. Pricing is typically 10–25% higher than Core, making it a solid balance between cost and functionality.

Pro

Pro model delivers a good balance of knowledge, reasoning, and speed. It is faster than Expert while still handling a wide range of tasks, from small updates to large, multi-step processes. It excels at long-running instructions, such as “go through all pages and update metadata.” However, like Expert, it requires clear and direct instructions, perhaps even more so. Its memory window is larger than Core and Advanced, and its pricing is generally comparable to Advanced, while being cheaper than Expert.

Expert

Expert model offers the highest reasoning capacity, making it best for highly complex tasks, such as creating detailed pages or implementing major structural changes. It is less proactive and requires carefully crafted prompts to perform effectively. Although slower than the other models — which can be a drawback for simple tasks like text or color changes. It has a larger memory window than Core and Advanced. While theoretically the most expensive, it can sometimes be more cost-effective than Core if it solves a problem in a single attempt.
