Project Checklist (Set Up Your Project on the AI Web Builder)

This article serves as a tutorial that walks new users through creating their very first project using Subbly's AI Website Builder. Here you'll find the checklist of what you need to do in order to get your build complete and published to the public.
Before you start
Open Builder from AI WEB BUILDER in the Admin left sidebar or from the top-left BUILDER/ADMIN workspace switcher. ADMIN is where you manage your store. BUILDER is where you create and edit your website through projects and chat prompts.
Switching between these workspaces does not change or publish your store or website. Changes happen when you instruct Builder to make them and publish the resulting version where applicable.
When you enter Builder, the starting view depends on your projects. With no project, Builder shows the first-prompt chat widget. With one project, it opens the Chat view. With more than one project, it opens the latest project you worked on. Use the menu from your name or profile in the top-right corner to switch projects.
Checklist
- Start the project by writing your first prompt. Keep the first prompt focused on the foundation of the project and avoid combining unrelated work.
- Interface with an Agent using the best practices as well as using all Builder tools available.
- Connect products from the backend or create new products by prompting the Agent to do that for you
- Connect the payment gateway to make sure your product checkouts are fully functional.
- Connect the domain to your site
- Publish the build when you are ready
From this point forward, the focus shifts to continuous improvement and refining your site. Below, you’ll find several optional but highly recommended next steps to help you further enhance your build.
Use Builder tools while you work
Page Prompt Builder is part of the additional tooling on the chat widget (click the + button to call in the contextual menu). Use Page Prompt Builder to select sections for the page you are building. The selected sections are saved as an instruction snippet and added to the agent's instructions.
Use Annotate to draw on the page preview and show the change you want. Click ADD TO CHAT to attach a snapshot to the chat. The annotation gives Builder instructions and does not directly edit the page. Review the result in Preview and publish separately.
Element Selector supports one or more selected elements (it's located inside the Edit Mode toolbar). Hold Ctrl on Windows or Linux, or Command (⌘) on macOS, while selecting additional elements. The Visual Editor opens only when exactly one element is selected. For multiple selected elements, use a prompt instead.
