Can customers download files from my Subbly site?

Jun Hyeok Yang Updated by Jun Hyeok Yang

When it comes to digital products, you may want for your customers to be able to download information (such as Ebooks) directly from your site or their login area, please keep reading to see what the options are.

Options for letting your customers download content from your Subbly site

As of now, let us say that the Subbly platform is unable to host or store files that can be later downloaded by customers. Thus, inevitably you will need an external platform to upload them. There are several services offering cloud storage that you can look up on the web, but some reliable options are Google Drive, One Drive and Dropbox.

But how can you distribute them? Here's what you can do:

  • Include a link to download the file(s) by editing the default email templates, e.g., Checkout Confirmation email.
  • Send the link via email as well but by building up automation as it will allow you to set a more specific flow.
  • Paste the link on a password-protected page of your site (in case you're using Subbly's website builder). You can share the password with your customers using the email method mentioned above. Do note this is not the same as the login password customers use for their portal.
  • If the file is not 'subscriber exclusive', and any visitor of your site can get access to it, then you can use the form/subscribe element on the website builder and configure through After Successful Submit the external URL where the file is hosted. When someone leaves their contact information, he/she will be immediately redirected to the file.

We really hope you find the above useful! But if you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out to our support team.
